Since January 18, schools in all 85 subjects of the Russian Federation open their doors and resume the traditional educational process. This was announced by Sergey Kravtsov, Minister of Education of Russia, at a briefing at the press center of the Government House.
The Minister recalled that distance technologies would not replace the traditional format of education, but would complement and develop classic school education.
“After the New Year holidays, step by step, starting this week, schoolchildren return to school. From Monday, January 18, schools in all 85 subjects of the Russian Federation, including Moscow, open their doors, resume the traditional educational process, with the exception of ten schools in seven regions that remain in quarantine due to Covid, "said Sergey Kravtsov.
He also talked about the all-Russian tests carried out at the beginning of the academic year, according to the results there were not any serious gaps in knowledge revealed after the forced transition to distance learning in the spring of 2020.
“Our task is to ensure that the level of knowledge does not drop. Today, targeted work has been organized with each school to compensate for possible gaps that the children have. Also, methodological recommendations on adjusting curricula and programs were sent to the regions in order to compensate for possible gaps in knowledge that were formed in connection with the forced transition to home schooling. But there aren't any serious concerns, ” said the Minister of Education.
