Citizens from 147 countries took part in the largest Competition in Russian as a foreign language
The results of the II International On-line Competition in Russian as a Foreign Language, organized with the support of the Ministry of Education of Russia on the basis of St. Petersburg State University, have been summed up. More than 9500 foreign citizens from 147 countries took part in it.
The largest Russian language competition for foreigners studying Russian took place in two stages. Contestants demonstrated their knowledge in the field of grammar, vocabulary, syntax of the Russian language, performed creative tasks.
More than 940 people from 80 countries of the world became the finalists of the Competition. Prize-winners and winners will receive textbooks in the Russian language, and they will also have the opportunity to pass the state testing in Russian as a foreign language for free. The best contestants will receive a special diploma, it gives a bonus upon admission to St. Petersburg State University, and other memorable awards.
The on-line Competition in Russian as a foreign language is held by the Ministry of Education of Russia as part of a program to improve the quality of education in Russian abroad. The Global Humanitarian Program also includes other projects, for example, Russian Teacher Abroad project implemented on the basis of the International Education Center Interdom named after E.D. Stasova, and also provides teaching of the Russian language and subjects in Russian by Russian teachers in a number of foreign countries, such as Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Vietnam, Mongolia and Serbia.
