Sergey Kravtsov: By modernizing teacher education, we are changing the approach to teacher training

A formal education system cannot be closed, “it should include experts, specialists from different fields - scientists, businessmen, politicians, who can in an accessible and interesting way tell the children as well as about what needs to be done to achieve certain results". This opinion was expressed by Sergey Kravtsov, Minister of Education of Russia at the expert discussion: Professional and social success. School and university – the most significant contribution is? ”. It was held within the Gaydar Forum. The discussion was also attended by Valeriy Falkov, Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation.

Participating in a discussion on professional and social success, Sergey Kravtsov, Minister of Education, spoke about the creation of a career guidance system at school, which "should immerse children in various situations giving them the opportunity to try themselves in their future occupation.".

“As part of the project to modernize teacher education, we are changing approaches to teacher training. We plan to form 5 thousand pre-profile classes for schoolchildren who will become highly qualified teachers,” the Minister informed.

He emphasized the importance of forming moral foundations in schoolchildren as well as qualities that would help them develop and become successful.

The Minister of Education also spoke about the importance of a balanced approach to education quality assessment system.

“Today, a lot of things depend on education quality assessment system. We need to be careful because the assessment system sets a vector for development of education, and we should not make a mistake. The assessment system must be objective. A biased system destroys education, ”the Minister summed up.
