The Ministry of Education of Russia represented the Russian Federation at the first meeting of the G20 Education Working Group
The first meeting of the Education Working Group took place under the Italian chairmanship of the G20.
The event was attended by representatives of the relevant ministries of China, India, Germany, France, Japan, Canada, Argentina and other G20 countries, as well as international organizations such as UNESCO, UNICEF and OECD.
The main topics of discussion were the impact of the pandemic on education system, support for the most vulnerable groups of the population, as well as experience of countries implementing distance learning technologies.
At the same time, in the UNESCO presentation, Russia was noted among the countries - leaders of the G20 with the highest percentage of school graduates.
The Russian Party shared the experience of organizing the educational process in the context of the spread of the new coronavirus infection COVID-19, and also noted the importance of joint work on employment of graduates of educational institutions. As examples of measures implemented in the Russian Federation, the introduction of a demonstration exam, competitions in professional skills, projects in the line of early vocational guidance are given.
During the Italian G20 presidency in 2021, it is planned to develop a Declaration of the G20 Education Ministers on Promotion of Quality, Inclusive and Equal Education for All, G20 Joint Declaration of Education and Labor Ministers on Transition from School to Work and G20 Report on Educational Approaches, Methodologies and Tools for High Quality Inclusive Digital and Hybrid Education.
